Our bedroom is where we spend our time regenerating, resetting and refreshing (really all of the positive “re-words”). But after the last year, we have spent a hell of a lot of time indoors and our bedrooms may feel less and less like a special sanctuary.

Indeed, feelings of claustrophobia and restlessness are likely at an all-time high. But there are definitely little ways to bring the magic back to our bedrooms and turn it back into a soothing sleep sanctuary.

Freshen Up the Walls

Soft colour schemes, most often in cool shades of neutral, green, blue, or lavender shades are perfect for creating a zen atmosphere!

Turn the lights down

Switch off the ‘big’ light. Buy a bedside lamp and get a low-watt, energy-saving bulb for it. Scatter some LED tea lights around. Your room will feel softer and more calming.

Tidy up

Mess causes stress by making you feel guilty, claustrophobic, and visually overwhelmed. If your room is looking a little messy, tidying up will help you relax (even if you might not feel like it). You know what they say tidy room, tidy mind.

Ditch the Devices

We get it, Tik Tok is your life (it’s ours too I mean who hasn’t fallen into a 3hr Tik Tok hole…. )But we’re here to tell you that too much screen time can disrupt your sleep (cries). Cut back on the amount of time you spend on your phone and you sleep will thank you for it!

Light Your Favourite Candles

Candles are great for stressful times because they can remind us of our favourite places and memories. Lighting one you love whilst winding down can be very soothing and helps our mind to unwind. Just don’t forget to blow it out!

Make Your Bed

A small thing but making your bed can really help you begin your day and also feel more relaxed and fresh when you go to bed at the end of the evening. Because if nothing else, you’ll have accomplished at least one thing each day!

Start That Book

One of the oldest and fastest-acting ways to escape the pressures of the day is reading a good book. Just six minutes of a good book can lower your stress levels significantly. The kids keep talking about Six of Crows, so we are trusting them and adding it to our list!

Listen to music

Play something that triggers a happy memory, something to help you sleep, or just something relaxing. Your heart rate will fall, and so will your stress hormone levels! Luckily for you, we’ve created a playlist for every scenario – discover our Sleepeezee Spotify.

Wrap Yourself in Something Soft

That fluffy blanket you wanted, buy it (shopping spree granted). Fluffy blankets and other soft comforts help you focus on physical comforts and bring you outside of your head. This can make such a difference in your mindset and mood.

Leave The Rest To Us

Most importantly make sure your mattress is up to the job. If it’s not supporting, you properly or is just uncomfortable you are going to have a terrible night’s sleep regardless of how much you have invested into your bedroom. Shop our range now over on our website.
