Whether you have a long-standing love affair with novels, or it’s a once a year, “I’ll pick up one in the airport” kind of relationship, you have to admit that there’s nothing quite like a good book to help you switch off, unwind and truly relax.
With the nights a little brighter and the weather a LOT warmer, why not take this summer as the perfect opportunity to fall back in love with reading?
So, not sure where to start? Here are our top five summer must reads – you can thank us later…

Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton

A firm favourite here at Sleepeezee HQ, journalist and former Sunday Times dating columnist Dolly Alderton shares her tales of heartbreak, self-love and friendship.
This action-packed memoir is full of relatable trials and triumphs of becoming a grown up and you won’t want to put it down.
Just like how it’s been passed around our office, you’ll want to lend this to all of your friends when you’re finished – it’s laugh out loud funny and a must read this summer.

The Woman in the Window by A. J. Finn

If you enjoyed Gone Girl and/or Girl on a Train, you’ll want to read The Woman in the Window this summer.
Described by Stephen King as “one of those rare books that really is unputdownable”, this tense thriller tells the tale Dr Anna Fox, a child psychologist who has become severely agoraphobic after a traumatic experience. When she witnesses from her window what she believes to be a murder, the police don’t believe her. But did she hallucinate the whole thing?
If the rave reviews aren’t enough to make you want to read the book, it’s currently in development as a major film so expect to see it on your screens late 2019.

The Art of Not Falling Apart by Christina Patterson

Brilliant, beautifully written and thought-provoking.
The Art of Not Falling Apart is a truly open account of life and its challenges.
Journalist Christina Patterson shares a series of stories that are honest, sad and ultimately uplifting. A great read for people wondering how to deal with tough times.

This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor by Adam Kay

Adam Kay’s This Is Going to Hurt gives a brutally truthful insight into one junior doctor’s time on the frontline of the NHS.
Although we hear lots about the stresses of our NHS, we rarely hear from junior doctors themselves and this award-winning Sunday Times bestseller shares everything we want to know, and more.
An unmissable read.

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

If you haven’t already read this book, then why not? Everyone has been buzzing about it and you’ll soon find out why.
This beautifully written book focuses on the lovely, but lonely, character Eleanor. She leads a simple life, but one small act of kindness forces her to step outside of her comfort zone and find the courage to face her past.
