Sleepeezee star alongside Alison Hammond in the latest mini-documentary for Backing Business campaign from NatWest and ITV

NatWest and ITV have featured British bed and mattress company, Sleepeezee in their brand-new TV campaign to promote their Backing Business initiative.
The collaboration between the bank and television network champions small businesses, particularly focusing on the hardships they have faced and how they can help to overcome these challenges.
Established in 1924, Sleepeezee are masters of their trade and are best known for their popular mattress ranges including the Travelodge DreamerTM, as well as their bedding, divans, headboards, and pet bed range.
The latest mini-documentary in the series sees NatWest business customer, Sleepeezee, in action at their factory in Rochester, Kent. The short video stars British TV Personality, Alison Hammond, as an ‘intern’ for a day at the Sleepeezee factory. Alison takes part in the mattress making process, meets the factory team and discusses Sleepeezee’s family culture with the company Managing Director, Steve Warren.
‘What I love about it here is the people’ states Alison.
‘Well, it’s the workforce that makes Sleepeezee, and even though we’ve been through some tough times in the past couple of years, we’ve managed to keep everybody together’ exclaims Steve.
As part of the Backing Business campaign, ITV offers matched funding for eligible businesses towards advertising for their campaigns and additional creative support if required.
NatWest offers an array of support to ‘make it easy to do business’. From helping businesses manage their money better with banking tools such as their mobile app and accounting software, to connecting business owners with experts and specialists like relationship managers and business coaches. The Backing Business initiative is a support network for all small businesses.
In light of the pandemic, Sleepeezee have received significant support from NatWest that has allowed them to continue their development as a leader in bed manufacturing in the UK. According to Amy Curtis, Head of Marketing at Sleepeezee, ‘the support from NatWest keeps Sleepeezee at the forefront of technology in the factory and helps drive investment towards becoming a much more sustainable company. We are always looking for new ways to expand our sustainability efforts alongside our latest instalment of 665 energy-saving solar panels at our factory in Kent which contribute more than 46,000kg of CO2 reduction per year’.
NatWest’s support provided Sleepeezee with a Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan of £2 million to support them through the pandemic, ultimately guaranteeing that Sleepeezee could make it through the pandemic and keep their employees together. As well as this, NatWest provided financial support on three key sets of machinery to improve Sleepeezee’s environmental credentials and factory efficiency: including solar panels, tape edgers and a quilt machine. Sleepeezee has NatWest’s continued support with access to diverse services such as mentoring and introduction to other key services such as insurance groups.
